I’m a graduate of PCI College Cork, where I studied Counselling and Psychotherapy for 5 years. I started my counselling career providing low cost counselling through the college’s own referral system. I now lecture at PCI College Cork, where I teach Counselling Skills and Ethical Practice.
After attending counselling myself, I discovered the power behind talk therapies.
Coming from a Business background, I soon realised my biggest investment in life, was in myself.
I have a particular interest in pregnancy loss, binge eating disorder, anxiety disorders, and clients who have a negative self view/low self esteem.
My role is to listen, support and perhaps help you with the theoretical insight to either change what is possible, or to live more contentedly and creatively with that which is not. I neither judge, nor condone your thoughts, feelings or behaviour.
Together, we will find a way to empower you to find your own solution to your situation.
I work from an integrative approach, which put simply, means I draw on a number of therapy styles and theories in order to tailor to the clients needs. Although, its no secret that I have a passion for CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and the third wave of therapies developed from this; Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Behavioural Therapy.
In January 2023, I launched Chapter You, a personal development website aimed at helping you to increase your self-awareness and guide you on your personal growth journey.
